This Christmas I’m giving myself…a BODYGUARD and an Instagram Cleanse.
Over the last 31 years I’ve put my body through hell. Overeating, starvation diets, food comas, hangovers, and housing another human for 9 months. And if you’ve ever had a free loading house guest – you know that’s a long ass time.
So this Christmas I’m giving my body the attention, love, nourishment, and exercise it deserves. Like any good habit, it takes time. And for far too long, I haven’t made the time.
So I thought I’d start off with an Instagram cleanse. I can do it braless and sitting on my couch. #winning
MY TIP FOR A SUCCESSFUL cleanse :
1. Scroll through ALL the accounts you’re following and visited any account that you don’t immediately recognize. Ask yourself:
What do I enjoy about this account?
Does it make me smile? Laugh? Cry?
Does it motivate me?
Does it add value to my life?
Trust your gut. If you’re undecided, take a screenshot of the account before your unfollow it. That way if you “miss” them or change your mind, you don’t have to spend hours searching for them again. This is supposed to be a cleanse, not a curse. 🤣
To those who are following A LOT of Instagram accounts:
Don’t try to complete this cleanse in one day. Most cleanses last 3-14days. Take your time. Also you might try staring with your Instagram Feed. Don’t just scroll and “❤️” posts. Take the time to read the captions, check out their grid, and think about whether they are a “good fit”.
If you’re like me, then you have a raging case of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). BUT if you are following too many accounts than you’ll DEFINITELY miss out because you’ll spend more time scrolling than actually SEEING posts.
I realize that I might not make the cut. And this may sound looney tunes, BUT I’m ok with that. I’m a #communityovercompetition kind of woman. 💪🏾 I know how much work goes it creating/sourcing/editing photos and writing captions like their your college applications. I swear it was easier getting into Harvard. 🤣
So if you’ve made it this far, thanks FOR READING this. I appreciate you and I hope to see you again. But if not, I’ll be ok….I have a therapy appointment on Jan 3. 🤣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
